Hey guys,
I would like to share with you the results of multiple evenings I have spent while waiting for the release of our lovely game.
It's a mobile app, serving as a handy guide to WoW Classic.
Idea was to provide a robust and working offline app containing all necessary information in simple form as other sites may be too complex for a quick look.
I found this project entertaining as it could let me come back to WoW, restudy it after a long time break and of course learn new technologies.
I hope you will enjoy "Classic Buddy".
Currently, it contains the following:
- Racials and Traits for every in-game Race
- Class Skills, Abilities, Pets, Talents (calculator) and Quest Series with Rewards list
- Detailed information about Abilities and Items, includes source and pricings
- List of Recipes, Nodes and other details for each in-game Profession
I plan to extend the app over time to fulfill missing categories.
My next steps are:
- Usability features
- Dungeons

Yes, will attempt for it once I finish my vacations. In a week from now. Source code is multi platform, so from technical point of view there should be no issues.

Noticed that if you go to humans or dwarfs, it shows priests spells in their racials;
Hope you get this going! I can imagine its going to be a tremendous amount of work to add everything completely thats shown.

It's hard to answer really. I do work on it in my free time, beyond daily work and family time. It's my first mobile application and I used completely new to me technologies (I am "retired" programmer, doing management work on daily basis for 4 years).
If I would somehow attempt to measure it, I would say (considering 8h/day)
1-2 weeks of enabling to new tech stack
1 week of building app skeleton with appropriate architecture
1 week for interface design (some own components, i.e. talent calculator)
2 weeks of manual or semi-automatic content database fulfilling (races, classes, talents)
1 week for polishing and preparation for publication
Now it's much easier and faster for me to add something new as I know the essentials.
